Wound Repair

Stem cells increase healing after certain surgical procedures

The cells can repair and regenerate skin, decrease scarring and increase healing. Cells can be used if a problem develops or after a surgical procedure to speed recovery and avoid complications.

Umbilical cord blood stem cells have been shown to be able to differentiate between or cause the surrounding cells to become skin, fat, blood vessels, muscles, tendons, and bone. This “customization” is what is missing in the conventional repair of a significant wound. Dr. Weiss has first-hand experience as a plastic surgeon with the ability of umbilical cord blood stem cells (UCBSC) to heal/regenerate a wound. A patient with massive wounds due to infection completely healed the wound after stem cell therapy.
